Cinderella
Ann – Downtown Princess
When I began the Modern Princesses of Dallas project, I knew I needed someone bold and confident to help set the tone. Ann, a former professional model and longtime friend, stepped up without hesitation. With tiara and heels, she embraced the role with pride as we turned downtown Dallas into our royal runway.
Alice (Take Me to Wonderland)
Holly – A Glamorous Trip to Wonderland
Holly of Darling Artistry has been my go-to makeup artist for years, consistently delivering phenomenal work. For Modern Princesses of Dallas, she brought her magic to the entire royal crew—but this shoot was something special. Stepping in front of the camera, Holly transformed into a modern Alice, playfully glamorizing her way through a dreamlike journey to Wonderland.
Rapunzel
Nicole – Radiant as Rapunzel
When I asked my longtime friend and model Nicole to step into the role of Rapunzel, she lit up with excitement—immediately diving into her closet to create the perfect look. Her energy, creativity, and charisma made the shoot unforgettable. Nicole didn’t just play a princess—she slayed it, capturing the essence of Rapunzel with effortless charm and undeniable cuteness.
Belle
Suzanne – Beauty with Boldness
Belle has always been one of my favorite fantasy princesses, so when it came time to bring her to life, I knew Suzanne was the perfect choice. A close friend and one of my most trusted models, Suzanne brought grace, strength, and a confident charm to the shoot. With her radiant presence and modern attitude, she embodied the spirit of a true princess—timeless, bold, and beautiful.
Merida
Kendyl – Fierce as Merida
Merida is known for her strength, spirit, and fiery independence—so I needed someone who could channel all of that effortlessly. Kendyl was the perfect match. With her striking look and fearless energy, she embraced the role with heart and professionalism. She didn’t just wear the tiara—she owned it. Just look at her!
Aurora
Jordyn – Aurora Among Us
With Modern Princesses of Dallas, I often imagined how these iconic characters might exist in today’s world. For Aurora, I pictured a princess drawn to the simple pleasures of everyday life—graceful, grounded, and still radiantly feminine. Jordyn brought that vision to life effortlessly. Dressed in her best pink ensemble and wearing her tiara with quiet confidence, she gave Aurora a modern edge—regal, relatable, and undeniably chic.
Snow White (Boudoir)
Emily – A Spellbinding Snow White
Boudoir is my favorite style of photography—there’s something powerful and intimate about celebrating sensuality through art. When you add a whimsical twist, like reimagining Snow White, the results can be downright magical. Emily, one of my longtime favorite models, brought her own personality into the role and absolutely embodied a modern, sultry version of the classic princess. The result? A shoot that was both enchanting and unforgettable.
Tinkerbelle (Boudoir)
Nicole – A Flirty Take on Tinkerbelle
For this Tinkerbelle-inspired boudoir shoot, I teamed up once again with longtime collaborator Nicole. Shot in the heart of downtown Dallas, we explored what a modern, flirtatious Tink might wear for a whimsical photo session. With her signature charm and stellar modeling talent, Nicole brought the perfect mix of fun and fantasy—proving once again that she can light up any lens.
Final Thoughts
I’ve been practicing photography for over 15 years, and one thing I’ve learned is that the journey never stops—there’s always more to explore, more to create. Modern Princesses of Dallas was a deeply personal project that took nearly two years to complete, entirely self-funded. From makeup and hair to wardrobe, props, locations, and equipment, the costs added up—somewhere between $1,500 and $1,800. Depending on your perspective, that may sound like a lot or a little, but for me, every dollar was worth it.
Back in 2016, several of these images were selected for a gallery exhibit in Irving, TX—my first major showcase of personal work. It was an incredible milestone and a chance to share this creative vision with a wider audience.
I’m proud of every photo, every collaboration, and every magical moment this project brought to life. Working with such talented models, artists, and friends was an honor. And yes, I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat—maybe next time with Ariel, Elsa, and Anna in the mix.
